Selfhosted: Uploading branding images during setup doesn't actually upload the asset

(#628) Bug Fixed self-hosting

Summary

During the setup wizard, with buckets properly initialized, selecting images to be uploaded ultimately results in no actual branding-asset upload. The image just isn't present and results in a 404 error when trying to view it directly. The asset url appears in the admin instance config page however and there are no apparent errors in the logs. Community logos and message image uploads appear to work just fine. Note: This instance is behind Nginx Reverse Proxy on a different machine, however, every other upload and voice/ video etc are working; sans Klipy but I believe that's different issue.

Steps to reproduce

Start setup wizard Select branding asset images to upload Finish wizard Get blank assets

also had this issue. the fix currently is just editing the branding urls in the admin panel and adding ".png" to the end

Were you able to get the favicon working as well?

yes, all of my branding assets work after putting .png at the end of the URL

Maybe I'm misunderstanding. Adding PNG did make the icons appear, except the favicon. That should be the one in the browser tabs and next to the url instead of the default blue and white image? Yes? It doesn't seem to change for me. Slightly off scope of the original post though.

adding .png should definitely work for the favicon too, at least it did for me, so im not sure why yours isnt. perhaps the image somehow became invalid? might be worth running through the onboarding setup again and replacing the favicon asset (then adding back .png in the admin panel after)

Did, multiple times. Even in incognito. Certain size/ format?

there probably is a max file size, but that should fail before letting you continue. as for format, the media proxy should handle all formats properly, so i would say unlikely the issue. otherwise im not really sure - sorry

Some weird cache. Finally got it to switch. Thanks for your help. I'm not sure whether to leave this issue open since the missing extensions are actually an issue.
