Lowering screenshare audio volume also lowers screensharer's voice volume

(#779) Bug Fixed ui voice

Observed behaviour

When watching a screenshare, lowering the stream audio also lowers the user voice. As long as the stream is not muted, it is possible to adjust that user's voice volume by right clicking their name, but since the volume changes every time the stream audio is chaged, it also needs to be adjusted every time.

Reproduction steps

  1. Open Fluxer
  2. Join any call in any server
  3. Screenshare with audio
  4. On a different account, join the same call
  5. Start watching the available screenshare
  6. Lower the screenshare volume

Status changed from Needs triage to Fixed
Staff confirmed the stream volume control was fixed in the latest version and a reporter confirmed it.

Can confirm, but because you used the volume button that's on the lower right of the screen If you right click and use the slider there it works fine So is more of a UI issue

+1, it's grouped with the stream-related buttons for popping out and maximizing the stream, the current behavior/labeling can feel confusing

This isn't actually a bug, just a questionable design decision. To the left of the button which puts the VC in fullscreen (primarily for watching screenshares) and the button which pops the VC into a window (primarily for watching screenshares) is a volume button which controls the master volume of the VC. That volume button is always there, surprisingly. That it exists at all doesn't make much sense to me, though, considering it is a completely redundant control that duplicates all the functionality of the volume button in the middle control set. The easiest solution is probably to just remove the redundant button.

I think it would be better to control the stream volume instead of removing I just found that I could actually control the stream volume because I randomly did right click which is the same behaviour as discord Edit: #3157 humpus fixed it! Thanks

This should indeed be fixed on the latest version, feel free to close if this works as expected now
