Report details

Summary

When enabling "Noise Supression" there is no difference on the other side of the screen. People can still hear everything. Enabling "Enhanced Noise Suppression" makes it so my voice constantly cuts in and out. This issue persists over multiple devices and all my friends also have this problem. Please implement something like "Krisp" on discord. This issue alone makes it hard for my friends group to want to switch.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Enable "Noise Supression"
  2. Notice it does nothing
  3. Enable "Enhanced Noise Suppression"
  4. Voice cuts in and out.
  5. Change "Suppression Level"
  6. Still sucks

Environment

stable build 508 (3250c73), 2026-06-06 21:26:08 UTC, Electron 39.2.7, Windows 10 10.0.19045 (x64), desktop stable 0.0.8

Issue with sound has gone on for 3 days. There was 3 of us on the server. Could not understand half of each other. This evening, I tried AppImage, Vivaldi and Brave browser. All three had the issues. I started playing with Audio and remembered Noise Suppression is known to cause the issues. When disabling, the issues went away for myself. The other 2 people did the same. Everyone cleared up. Two people are on Linux. I am not sure about the third. My specs below. Operating System: Nobara Linux 43 KDE Plasma Version: 6.6.2 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.24.0 Qt Version: 6.10.2 Kernel Version: 6.19.11-201.nobara.fc43.x86_64 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Processors: 8 × AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D 8-Core Processor Memory: 64 GiB of RAM (60.4 GiB usable) Graphics Processor 1: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 Graphics Processor 2: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D 8-Core Processor 2) Stable Build 380 3) Stable Build 380 4) Clippy | Choppy sound. Audio volume is very low in direct message voice comms as well as server channels. Audio cuts in and out pretty consistently. Disabling Enhanced Noise Suppression only brings up the audio volume a bit and doesn't help the audio artifacting/fragmenting. We have had as many as six people in a voice channel all experiencing the same issue, all but one on windows. 1: Specs
  • Win 11 Home
  • 12th Gen Intel i9-12900k
  • Nvidia 3090
  • Arctis Nova 7 mic
  • Desktop app
2: Between Stable versions 337 up to 380 3: Between Stable versions 337 up to 380 4: Low volume, clipping, robotic voices 5: EU west and US East or automatic. Ping varies between 60 to 180 between the people in voice. Worst ping was observed from someone in Germany. 6: Noise Suppression, Enhanced Noise Suppression, echo cancellation, equalizer presets. Only changing Fluxer's Enhanced Noise Suppression increased volume a small amount. 7: Pixel9 with desktop app.

The noise cancellation only works in the Chrome browser; I haven't been able to activate it on any other platform. I've fixed most of the other issues in the app, but I haven't been able to resolve the noise cancellation problem. This makes the app completely unusable for me because even the slightest background noise and breathing sounds are audible, which is very annoying.

f you are experiencing poor audio quality with enhanced noise suppression enabled, please help us diagnose by commenting below with the following information: Your Hardware: Windows 11 Pro AMD 9700 XT i9 9900k Desktop App and Web Browser (brave) Shure M7X Mic What client / version you are on : stable build 506 (db65069), 2026-05-11 21:10:55 UTC, Electron 39.2.7, Windows 11 10.0.26200 (x64), desktop stable 0.0.8 What client / version are the people hearing your quality on.: Web browser What is the issue: Cuts off words and makes our voices too low for us to hear almost every word. What voice server are you connected to? What is your average ping / your friends in call average ping? 67 ms, US West What combination of audio settings are you on: enhanced noise suppression, 100%. Disabling does make it so we can hear each other clearly. Have you tried other devices yet? Yes my GF who has a different computer and parts has the same issue. Same issue here.

poor audio, clipping, cutting of sound and words, robotic / electronic fading of sounds 5. Germany / EU-Central, everyone on average ping of 20-40
Noise Suppresion Enhanced + Auto Gain Control + Auto-set activity threshold No matter how you combine them on both tested builds, it won't solve the problem 7. Samsung S20 FE with Canary Web 2026.605.11941, Chrome 148.0.0.0 and same settings as in 6. but I haven't had the same issues there.

Thanks, this looks like the same thing I'm experiencing. Sadly this thread also fell victim to the mass closure of everything here. No dev ever looked at this it in the past four months it seems. Same with my keyboard shortcut issue that gained a bit of sympathy with other affected users.

I’m also experiencing poor audio quality with noise suppression enabled. This issue makes Fluxer pretty much unusable for me and my friends right now. Because of the audio cutting out, low volume, and inconsistent noise suppression, we are currently not really using Fluxer until this is improved. 1. Hardware / OS Windows 11 Windows NT 10.0 x64 CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti Motherboard: GIGABYTE X870 AORUS ELITE WIFI7 RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR5 32GB, 6000 MT/s, CL30 Microphone: Razer Seiren Mini 2. Client / version I’m using Web: Stable Web 2026.616.45607, Windows NT 10.0 x64, Microsoft Edge 149.0.0.0, Locale en-US Desktop Fluxer App: stable build 508 3250c73, 2026-06-06 21:26:08 UTC, Electron 39.2.7, Windows 11 10.0.26200 x64, desktop stable 0.0.8 3. Client / version used by people hearing the issue The other clients hearing the issue are on the same web version listed above. I also tested this myself using two accounts on my self-hosted Fluxer instance. One account was listening while the other was transmitting. I have not yet tested this in a normal call with other people. 4. Issue Standard noise suppression does not seem to suppress much noise for me. It behaves almost the same as having noise suppression turned off, except the output volume seems slightly lower. Enhanced noise suppression causes noticeably worse audio quality. With Enhanced enabled, my voice is sometimes not picked up even though I am close to the microphone. The beginning and end of spoken words or sentences are often low volume and poor quality, while the middle parts are somewhat better but still intermittent. The suppression also feels inconsistent. It sometimes still picks up random background sounds such as keyboard or mouse noise, while at other times it cuts out or lowers my voice. 5 Voice server / ping Voice server: self-hosted Average ping: around 3–5 ms for everyone in the call 6. Audio settings I tested Standard and Enhanced noise suppression with all different combinations. Standard behaves almost like noise suppression is off, but with slightly lower output volume. Enhanced makes the quality bad and intermittently cuts out parts of my voice. 7. Other devices I have not tested other devices yet.

Also experiencing very bad audio quality.
Your Hardware / OS (CPU, GPU, Mic, interface) - please confirm that your audio drivers are all up to date
image Blue Yeti Microphone.
What client / version you are on
Not sure how to check, just pulled with docker yesterday. Using Firefox on linux to view.
What client / version are the people hearing your quality on.
Friend was connected via windows on chrome.
What is the issue (muted sounds, clipping, robotic, etc..)
Robotic and muted for all parties, trying to switch audio to another input causes firefox to lag and the microphone to flicker. Requiring fluxer to be closed to regain functionality.
What voice server are you connected to? What is your average ping / your friends in call average ping?
Connected to a VPS, both client pings were below 60ms.
What combination of audio settings are you on (enhanced noise suppression, auto gain control, echo cancellation). Does disabling anything return quality to normal?
Default settings, attempting to change the input device caused the app to lag and need to be closed, preventing us from trying other settings.
Have you tried other devices yet?
No, we figured Fluxer is not ready for use yet.

Please ensure that all testing happens on the Canary version of client @ https://canary.fluxer.app/download or https://web.canary.fluxer.app/. However, a big voice architecture update is being worked on by me and is soon ready to launch, which will bring a lot of improvements.
Awesome thank you! We'll try again when they're ready! I'll make sure to switch to the canary branch as well when we do.

Issue is still present, enhanced seems to make audio jump up and down due to the lack of automatic gain control.

For those that are "needing" noise cancelling because you are in a bad noisy environment you can use it directly He's using https://github.com/Rikorose/DeepFilterNet (which is mostly linux only) and it must be implemented in a different way, or something. If you use https://github.com/Rygtx/DeepFilterNet-GUI which works fine on windows, the issues won't appear, just use direct speech and this You need https://vb-audio.com/Cable/ on windows too I'm thinking the implementation in the browser is either different or just something as simple as some settings. I know the GUI there has a slider bar for how much the ai is "active" in cancelling out noise, which also isn't in fluxer and I am curious if that'd make a difference I have tried several mics and notice that only some of my mics chop out, so I am thinking the audio input + the level of how active that AI is, is what is doing it.
