This is done to meet legal obligations worldwide and in order to automatically grant your account access to age based features.
This doesn't explain why an exact date of birth is specifically needed vs other options that still meet the legal requirements.
Additionally, I am in a country where there is no minimum age currently, and thus no legal obligation, so why am I still being asked for sensitive information?
And as I have also said and now @MattTheTekie has said as well, there needs to be clarification on how this data is stored and protected. My country also has privacy laws giving me a legal right to know what is being stored, the ability to change that stored information and to request all the information stored. So Fluxer as it currently stands is not meeting worldwide legal obligations.
