"About Me" keeps resetting every few seconds

Summary

When I attempt to edit my "About Me" on my user profile, every few seconds the input field will just reset to nothing, wiping out the text I was writing. This situation doesn't happen all the time but when it does it's somewhat frustrating. As a workaround I can edit the text in an external text editor, paste it in, and hope I click "save changes" before the next reset happens.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open the profile editor
  2. Start typing in the "About Me" field
  3. Take more than a few seconds to do so, like a normal organism

Environment (optional)

v0.0.8 on macOS (Tahoe 26.2, M4 Pro)

Unable to replicate this on Windows 11 with client version v0.0.8. Might be OS specific

It comes and goes, as I said in the summary. It's possible that it's due to the massive influx of users of which I am a part.

Are you able to replicate it right now? If not then it might be related to the previously known caching issue that profiles were having

It seems to not be happening at this particular moment. When was the caching issue resolved? I was running into this maybe 10 minutes before I opened the issue.

Oops, nope, it just happened again.
Ok so I just tried to replicate it myself when you posted this and again was unable to replicate so it might well be a MacOS related issue? Could somebody else on MacOS please verify? Also are you able to replicate the issue in a web browser instead of the desktop client out of curiosity?

It's been intermittent but I'll keep an unsaved "about me" change open on a browser instance to see if it happens there too.

Hm, no, I think it would have triggered by now if the same thing is to happen. This isn't a guarantee that it isn't happening, but 5 minutes sitting idle in Firefox hasn't caused the same thing to happen. I do notice that on my profile the border color is stuck on the wrong color, though, so I wouldn't rule out a caching issue.

Hmm, can PROBABLY narrow it down to an issue with the MacOS client at this point but if other users on MacOS could double check and verify that would be fantastic as I don't have access to an (up to date) MacOS device
