Incorrect app icon in the GNOME dock

(#160) Bug Confirmed desktop packaging

Summary

I've pinned Fluxer (installed from an AppImage) to the GNOME dock, but when I run it, a second icon for "fluxer_app" appears with a generic program icon, instead of just the active application marker under the first one. image

Steps to reproduce

  1. Pin Fluxer to the GNOME dock
  2. Open the app

Status changed from Fixed to Confirmed
Reopened because another user found the wrong StartupWMClass and it was bulk closed without a fix.

It looks like the .desktop file at /usr/share/applications/fluxer.desktop specifies the wrong StartupWMClass. Manually editing it to apply this diff fixes the issue:
- StartupWMClass=Fluxer
+ StartupWMClass=fluxer_app
Probably whatever electron configuration is used to generate the .desktop file needs to be updated Actually, I think this is a packaging issue, not a Fluxer issue. If you're on Arch Linux and using the package from the AUR, the desktop file is provided by the package: https://aur.archlinux.org/cgit/aur.git/tree/fluxer.desktop?h=fluxer-git

Thank you for the tip, I used the Pins app to fix that, but I hope this won't be necessary in future releases.
