I suspect the members list can render nothing if a group exists but no member rows are assigned to it, because empty groups are skipped entirely in the render path.

So if you end up in a state where the gateway sends/keeps groups (including hoisted-role groups) but the items map doesn’t contain corresponding member rows (or isn’t loaded yet / is partially loaded / is filtered out), the UI drops every group - meaning the whole panel looks empty.
Idk, might be better to render the group header even when members aren’t loaded yet (or show skeleton rows), or treat group.count as authoritative while loading.
