Desktop app: Pop out item (community, channel, DM) to separate window

Current problem

Current world: one window, one pane at a time. Single focus of communication. Can only watch one chat at once.

Proposed change

DESKTOP client change: allow the user to "open in new window"
  • Communities
  • Channels
  • DMs
This would allow me to pretend to live in the matrix. On a more serious note, it allows me to multi-window chats and easily surf/participate in multiple streams much easier than constantly switching between contexts in a single-window mode.

i second this. although its gonna be hard to make sure the new window loads fast too, unless you meant custom windows in fluxer instead of native browser windows

custom windows in the desktop app. I should have specified. I will edit my post. I can already do this with browser windows, with each window being a different focus
