Please do not add this feature. PDFs are known commonly-exploited attack vectors and will cause unnecessary development and maintenance headache.
If this is to be added, it should be at the absolute bottom of the priority list, after the product has stabilized for over 2 years.

I understand the security and maintenance concerns, and those are valid considerations. However, PDF support is a fairly common requirement for professional networking and recruiting platforms, as resumes, portfolios, research papers, and other documents are typically shared in PDF format.
Rather than making it a high-priority feature, perhaps it could be considered for the roadmap after core functionality has matured. If implemented, it could be done with appropriate sandboxing and security controls to minimize risk.
In the meantime, it would be helpful to hear whether there are specific technical or security concerns that make PDF embedding particularly problematic for this project.
