Tested on .deb installed client and web client in waterfox v6.6.8. Doesn't seem to be an issue on my end anymore either!
Unfortunately, It started acting up again after a time of idle. My own name is now in offline although my account is set to be online. There's still an issue on my end.
Refreshing the client using CTRL + R didn't work.
