Knock to join room permission

(#1095) Feature Under consideration community voice

Problem

Open voice rooms in a large Community can get crowded really fast.

Proposed solution

Adding a join method where someone can "close the door", this makes it so anyone else that wants to join has to first "knock" and get someone inside to "let them in". I think this feature goes well with #1094 and #1082.

Merged from #1136 Doorbell system

Problem

Sometimes we want to be a little private in our discord (now Fluxer) rooms and people keep entering the room unannounced, so why not ask: can I join you?

Proposed solution

What do you think about implementing a “doorbell” system for voice channels, where people already in the room are asked whether they allow someone to join the conversation? I’ve always wanted this on Discord, but we’ve never had it there.

Knock as in what, a user gets a noise played client side or a popup saying that a specific user wants to join the channel (assuming they have permissions to do so, ie not role locked out) or smth like that?

Its basically a request to join, could be a popup, sound, or both. Then someone inside the room, can see who wants to join and decide to let them in or not. It would also be handy to be able to configure if someone on the outside can see who is inside, and who can allow someone in, the first one to join or anyone inside.

I like the idea with an in window (or even as a pop up window w/ a notification), and a sound that okays when that action occurs. Perhaps the sound could be customizable per room.

yeah, no reason not to make it configurable.

@coldreindeer I just noticed you are the one that made #1082, I think it mixes well with that feature since it lets there be a "hub" for lets say: Project Zomboid, and people can form play groups to chat while playing without bothering other groups and preventing the channel clutter I see with like 10 voice channels per game or topic. And you don't have to pre configure each channel for a specific group.

The only issue I see for this is someone going around 'knocking' on every user in the channel, bothering people or when they just wanna hang out with a couple of people. Personally I wouldn't want a noise played and I might not see the pop-up if I have it hidden behind a video or smth. So maybe a way to set the channel to a do not disturb mode so nobody can try joining it if they don't want anyone to. People could still ask in a text channel if they want to join or in a dm if you are fine with them doing that.

One could prototype this with an administrative bot that manages Voice Channels! that'd be cool
