UnifiedPush as an alternative to Apple and Google push notifications

(#1076) Feature Planned mobile notifications privacy

Problem

To keep the dependencies to Apples and Googles US based services low, an alternative to Googles and Apples push notification systems would be nice.

Proposed solution

A existing solution, that is not too complicated for the user to setup, could be implementing UnifiedPush as an alternative for push notifications. https://unifiedpush.org/

Notes (optional)

This problem does not exist currently, as there is no official app. Having UnifiedPush as alternative is preferred instead of replacing Googles and Apples push services. This allows to keep an easy setup for most users and would give privacy focused folks, like me, peace of mind.

Would it be doable to add UnifiedPush support on Linux too? I'm aware it's not very common to support on Linux, but there is at least one distributor (KUnifiedPush) and three libraries for supporting it. Not sure if these libraries are easily integrated within the codestack ofc, but would be nice if I could have push without needing the app to be constantly running in the background. Assuming implementing the libraries is a simple process, it seems like unifiedpush-rs supports launching the app when recieving a push, with the ability to set a custom launch argument, allowing processing the push without opening the full UI https://docs.rs/unifiedpush/latest/unifiedpush/#start-from-a-push-notification It seems doable to launch headless with flutter-connector but a bit more involved? https://pub.dev/documentation/unifiedpush/latest/ And libunifiedpush seems to just be a wrapper for unifiedpush-rs that is usable in some other languages. I'm not an expert in this myself and have not implemented UnifiedPush support in anything for the record. I understand if this isn't something you consider worth the effort of implementing but I guess you'd show up in the UnifiedPush support list which could give you a tiny bit of extra visibility? I think it's cool at least when stuff shows up there xD
