Emoji packs

(#997) Feature Planned emoji

Problem

Sometimes, emojis come in a group. It would be helpful to have an additional layer of grouping for emojis.

Proposed solution

Instead of having a flat list of emojis, we'd have a list of emoji packs. If there is a limit to the number of emojis, it would apply to the sum of the number of emojis in each pack. This is a feature that is present on Cinny, a Matrix client: image (In this screenshot, on the user's profile, there is a "default emoji pack" where you can upload emojis for yourself in a flat list, and then "favorite packs" which are packs you can select from communities, but what I'm talking about is just having a single level of emoji "folders" instead of a flat list.) When I tried it, I thought it would be awesome if chat apps would let you handle emojis this way.

Status changed from Shipped to Planned
Reopened as planned because emoji packs are on the roadmap and have not shipped.

Forgive me for I have forgotten that it was literally mentioned in the roadmap 💀 https://blog.fluxer.app/roadmap-2026/#7-emoji-and-sticker-packs

# 7: Emoji and sticker packs

A lot of Discord users can probably relate to joining loads of communities just to use their emojis and stickers globally. Fluxer would instead let you save emoji and sticker packs created by others directly to your account, if you prefer.
