Unicode characters are converted to emojis in custom status texts

(#845) Bug Fixed emoji profiles

Observed behaviour

Unicode characters such as ⏸ (U+23F8) are suddenly converted to emojis, when they are present in a custom status text. In my opinion they should not be, as the user would otherwise have entered the emoji, if they wanted the emoji (U+23F8 U+FE0F). This was not the case in the following version, which is the version of my desktop installation:
stable build 508 (3250c73), 2026-06-06 21:26:08 UTC, Electron 40.0.0, Linux 7.2.5-200.fc44.x86_64 (x64), desktop stable 0.0.0
Screenshots are attached below.

Reproduction steps

  1. Go to your profile
  2. Set a custom status
  3. Enter ⏸ as the text
  4. Observe that the ⏸️ emoji is shown instead. There is no way to show the intended character
