Observed behaviour
In the iOS beta, I’m noticing that it keeps the microphone active even when not in a voice or video call. I did not find any options within the app that would suggest this to be a setting or necessary. Typically, the microphone should only be active while using a voice/video channel or when testing the microphone in the options.
I’m on an iPhone 15 Pro running iOS 26.6.
Reproduction steps
Microphone activity appears at the top of the iPhone screen. I was not actively using the microphone at the time.
