Summary
The
fluxer-users service currently ships as a precompiled binary (
/usr/local/bin/fluxer-users) with no corresponding source I could find in the repository. As a result, patching/understanding this service's behavior is made difficult on self-hosted instances, which creates maintenance problems. In my case, I'm hitting an issue where
PUBLIC_USER_FLAGS is baked into the binary, which means I can't update the service to match the rest of the changes I've made to the stack.
Would it be possible to include the service's source and have it built at image build time rather than shipped precompiled? Since the project's AGPL licensed, having source available for this would also satisfy the license requirements for the project.
Steps to reproduce
- Follow self-hosting documentation (https://docs.fluxer.app/operator/get-started/) to bring an instance online
- Inspect the users service configuration
Environment
Version: 2026.630.20736 (currently tagged as latest for fluxer-users)
Logs or screenshots
$ docker inspect fluxer-users-1 --format '{{json .Config.Cmd}}'
["/usr/local/bin/fluxer-users"]

git grep fluxer-usersin the repo? I found theCargo.tomlimmediately. It's here:/fluxer_users/Cargo.toml. And judging by/fluxer_users/Dockerfile,/fluxer_usersshould be the source of thefluxer-usersbinary.Comment by @Qsie
