Push-To-Talk on Linux (Wayland) activates once and then mutes permanently

Summary

When using PTT on Linux (KDE Plasma in my case, Wayland), it works once, and then mutes permanently and the PTT button no longer works.

Steps to reproduce

  1. join voice chat
  2. use push to talk once (after unmuting manually, for some reason, it starts fully muted)
  3. able to use voice chat while button is pressed
  4. release button, and is no longer usable until you manually unmute again.
