[SelfHosting] Failed to accept invite: We could not join this community at this time

Summary

I have a working selfhosted instance that runs fine via the web client when the account is registered directly in the server. Trying to add the community from the desktop client fails with the message "We couldn't join this commuity at this time". Logging in to the web client with my regular fluxer account and trying to join does the same thing. Is there a way to connect with the dektop client or is that work in progress?

Steps to reproduce

join comunity > paste link > join
