Cannot connect to self-hosted instance from app

(#4583) Bug Open: Fix pending Priority: P0 mobile self-hosting

Reproduction steps

  1. Add an account
  2. Type self-hosted instance address
  3. Click connect.

Expected behaviour

Able to connect to self-hosted instance from the app and login.

Actual behaviour

App shows message saying "Couldn't read this instance's configuration. Check the address and try again."

Build information

Version 2026.11.100, Beta 1, Channel Beta, Build 888, Android 17 (arm64), Device Google Pixel 10 Pro XL, Locale en-GB, Push unifiedpush, Flutter 3.47.9, Dart 3.13.7 rexctl 2026.1101.53545 Fluxer 2026.1101.53545 & rexctl 2026.1102.33216 Fluxer 2026.1102.33216

Seconding this, I have this too with my selfhost. This worked fine on the previous app version and seems to be a regression

Can't replicate here, signed in to self-hosted instance fine. Version 2026.11.100, Beta 1, Channel Beta, Build 888, Android 17 (arm64), Device Sony XQ-FE54, Locale en-GB, Push unifiedpush, Flutter 3.47.9, Dart 3.13.7 Instance version: 2026.1030.225815

I've updated the build information section with the server versions I've had this issue on if that helps.
