Reproduction steps
- In flutter_client, re-pin fluxerapp/dart_sdk submodule to latest.
- Build flutter_client and run on device.
- Attempt to connect to a self-hosted instance at bottom of log-in screen. The self-hosted instance must be running the latest version of the server code with the new hidden built-in badges.
Expected behaviour
Instance is selected and login proceeds normally
Actual behaviour
As soon as instance is selected, I receive blocking error: "Couldn't read this instance's configuration. Check the address and try again."
Log-in does not proceed.
Additionally, any new installs or new sign-ins with no stored key may lose access to push notifications through Android UnifiedPush. This may also affect the official instance.
Build information
May affect both Android and iOS. This issue is not yet live for production Fluxer users, because flutter_client pins fluxerapp/dart_sdk submodule to 536c2f5 from 2026-10-29 which doesn't yet have hiddenBuiltInGuildBadges. But once flutter_client updates the fluxerapp/dart_sdk pin to d01facf4 or later (2026-10-31 2:35 UTC), this will begin occurring.
Platform
Android, iOS
Evidence
Root cause: this occurs because https://github.com/fluxerapp/fluxer/blob/63155bc11d5300b8e4256c909a7ec02e3e0f28c5/packages/schema/src/domains/instance/InstanceSchemas.ts#L469 on the server side declares InstanceHiddenBuiltInGuildBadgesSchema as an array (which is served as a list by InstanceController.ts), but the SDK at https://github.com/fluxerapp/dart_sdk/blob/0955f730f770a5782b5c293068432676b16722da/lib/models/well_known_fluxer_response.dart#L117 expects a single value (InstanceHiddenBuiltInGuildBadgesSchema which is an enum, not an array).
This appears to originate as a problem with the Dart generator where an anonymous enum inside a list is accidentally given the same name as the list itself. One fix is to give the enum its own exported name. Another fix is to fix the generator in fluxerapp/openapi_sdk_gen_dart then regenerate. Any top-level named list of anonymous inline enums would encounter this same issue.
