Current problem
Fluxer only provides mobile apps for Android and for iOS. HarmonyOS NEXT can run Android apps through a built in container environment but the experience is not the best (framerate throttled to 90Hz, unreliable notifications). I could not get Fluxer notifications to work at all on neither of the three offered variants of the app.
There are quite a few users of this operating system outside of China who import Huawei devices that run this OS. Huawei also released foldable devices which would benefit from proper app optimization regarding their screens.
Proposed change
Provide a native app for HarmonyOS NEXT. If possible, register with Huawei's AppGallery to publish your app to the app store, this is the easiest way for users to download your app. Note that the HarmonyOS (Chinese) AppGallery and the EMUI AppGallery are not the same platform, the selection of available apps is totally different since we're talking about two different OSes.
The other possibility is to provide installable .hap files. These can be "sideloaded" but the process needs a computer and a special app, and the app's signature expires after one week. This is very similar to iOS. There are some apps that can be used to extend the signature of the sideloaded apps.
Additional information
Many western developers have already started pushing their apps for HarmonyOS NEXT. Some are already on the app store, others still need to be sideloaded. We have native (unofficial) clients for Telegram, YouTube, Instagram, and lots of handy apps for westerners' needs (Google Drive sync for example). An example of an app with support is the Servo browser, which provides .hap packages on their GitHub releases.
