Desktop audio hearable through my mic input while using an audio interface

Summary

When I am in voice chat, my friends can hear a distorted version of my desktop audio through my mic input, I use a focusrite scarlet 2i2, my mic and my headphones are plugged in the interface. the problem stops when I plug my headphones directly on my PC.

Steps to reproduce

1. Have your audio input and output plugged into a focusrite scarlet 2i2 (possibly in another audio interface as well)
2. go in a voice chat (or in a mic test)
3. play any audio on your desktop
