Long-press menu disappears at end of press, so community settings are inaccessible

Reproduction steps

Swipe to open community list on left.
Long press a community until the menu which includes "Mark as Read," "Notification Settings," and "More Options" appears on screen.

Expected behaviour

I expected that either:

The menu would stay on my screen when I released the touch, so that I could tap a menu option, or
The menu would allow me to swipe over into the menu without breaking the touch so I could select a menu option that way.

Actual behaviour

If I release touch, the menu vanishes. If I attempt to select a setting by sliding my finger without ending touch, I reorder the community instead.
