Current problem
Uploads in media channels are shown in a static grid, where often text in images and other image elements are cut off. This makes the channel largely unsuitable for use as a memes channel.
I think it is probably self-evident in CleanShot 2026-10-12 at 1.50.43 PM@2x.png the problems with the browsing experience when sharing memes like these and similar images in a media channel currently.
For a lot of use-cases I'd envision for a media channel, titles are also redundant, because if the full image was visible it probably speaks for itself. I would make media titles optional, and maybe an option in the channel settings to require them for some scenarios.
Proposed change
The channel could just be a single column without a fixed image height similar to an Instagram feed. This would make a much nicer experience for meme channels which are common, as well as photography galleries and other typical media use-cases.
On desktop, maybe you'd also consider a multi-column layout without fixed heights, similar to this website: https://amazon.format.com/ CleanShot 2026-10-12 at 1.57.53 PM@2x.png
Platform
macOS, Windows, Linux, Web, Android, iOS
Additional information
Other apps that do this typically limit the height of images to not have absurdly long posts to scroll through, but it should still allow fairly tall ones, maybe a 1:3 ratio max.
