Group DMS created on desktop fail to sync on mobile

Reproduction steps

Open the mobile application

Expected behaviour

The group DM syncs and displays all messages, GIFS, links sent from desktop app.

Actual behaviour

The group DM does not show at all on mobile, despite it having been created on desktop.
