Noise suppression has no noticeable effect on any background noise

Enabling noise suppression does not appear to filter any kind of background noise. Keyboard typing, fan noise, ambient room noise, and other sounds all pass through essentially unchanged. Toggling the setting on/off makes no audible difference, so I suspect the feature may not be taking effect at all.

Join a voice channel / start a call. Enable noise suppression Produce background noise (e.g. typing, running a fan, playing background audio at low volume). Listen via another participant or the mic test/loopback. Toggle noise suppression off and compare.
