Current problem
if multiple people are talking in a call, it can be hard to tell them apart. especially, if someone is being loud and obnoxious, it is not always clear who needs to be muted (or disconnected by a moderator)
Proposed change
taken directly from this comment, an "obvious" solution would be to have the voice activity ring be an audio visualizer! that would make it way easier to tell apart someone who is screaming versus someone who just has some background noise coming through.
more subtly, it would probably also make it possible to distinguish someone with a deep voice vs a high pitched voice? it might not be very apparent at first, but after using it for years i can imagine someone might subconsciously be able to distinguish "voices" in the visualizer?

given that this feature is based on an unnecessary animated element, it of course needs to be off by default when a user prefers reduced motion. but it should probably have an explicit toggle; both for those who are fine with motion but want a nostalgic experience, and for those who prefer reduced motion but find the utility of this feature outweighs the visual stimulation.
