Forum Channels Don't Show After Instance Switching

Observed behaviour

If you instance switch into a community that has forum channels, they don't actually appear until you reload the client using Ctrl+R.

Reproduction steps

  1. Instance switch into a community with forum channels.
  2. Forum channels are not visible.
  3. Ctrl+R to reload the client to have forum channels visible again.

Canary Desktop 2026.1009.45608, Web 2026.1009.142425, Linux 7.2.9-arch1-1 (x64), Electron 44.4.1, Chrome 152.0.7977.78, Node 24.21.0, Locale en-US

Forums and Media channels no longer appeared on the channel list

Reproduction steps

1.use the switch accounts feature and switch to an alt 2.switch back to your main account

Have also had this happen when inconsistently on Canary when:
  • Switching to and from a selfhosted instance
  • Enabling and disabling Custom Css
Channels reapear after reload of the AppCanary Desktop 2026.1009.45608, Web 2026.1009.45608, Linux 7.2.9-100.fc43.x86_64 (x64), Electron 44.4.1, Chrome 152.0.7977.78, Node 24.21.0, Locale en-US

For reproduction step 1, I indicated that you have to switch into a community with threads. But after further use, it doesn't matter if the community you switch into has threads or not. If you switch onto a different instance and the community you land on has no threads, going to a different community with threads will not display them until after a reload.
