[self-hosted] username login does not work

Observed behaviour

Observed: iOS app did not accept user name, but insisted on email. Expected: iOS app should recognize login mode and accept user name.

Reproduction steps

Set up self-hosted instance with user name mode. Install latest test fligth build on iOS. Connect and try to login.

Build information

Version 2026.10.100, Beta 3, Channel Beta, Build 85, iOS 27.0 (arm64), Device iPhone15,2, Locale da-DK, Push apns, Flutter 3.47.6, Dart 3.13.5

Platform

iOS, Self-hosting

  1. mesub changed the status from Needs triage to Duplicate
  2. Elias changed the status from Duplicate to Needs triage
  3. Elias changed the status from Needs triage to In progress
  4. Elias changed the status from In progress to Fix pending

Can second this for trying to connect to my selfhost with Android. Version 2026.10.100, Beta 3, Channel Beta, Build 2621, Android 15 (arm64), Device OnePlus HD1901, Locale en-DE, Push unifiedpush, Flutter 3.47.6, Dart 3.13.5
