False error toast "Couldn't update mention preference" appears when changing settings despite successful update

Observed behaviour

An error toast stating "Couldn't update mention preference. Try again." is displayed immediately, even though the setting is successfully applied and persists even after restarting the app.

Reproduction steps

Go to Settings > Notifications.
Under Mention preference, toggle or select any option (e.g; Prefer no @mention).
Observe the alert message displayed at the top of the screen and check the actual state of the setting.

Details

Expected behaviour When a mention preference is changed, the app should save the setting and show a success confirmation (or silently apply it) without triggering a false error alert.
