Observed behaviour
The "new unreads" indicator appears instead. However, this is applied inconsistently and seems to depend on the length needed to scroll to where mentions are.
Reproduction steps
- Visit a community with many channels.
- Mark messages in many channels on top as unread.
- Ping yourself in a channel on the bottom.
- Mark the message where you pinged yourself as unread.
- Scroll to the top of the channel list.
- If doing this for the community list: Put communities with just unread messages on top (step 2), and communities with mentions on the bottom and ping yourself (step 3).
