Mention link breaks when changing channel view before sending message

Observed behaviour

The mention link is broken, and it is just sent as plain text.

Reproduction steps

  1. Mention a user or a channel in the message bar.
  2. Change the channel you're currently viewing to a different channel.
  3. Change the channel back to the original channel.
  4. Send the message.

Observed behaviour

The mention gets sent as text of the @user#tag with no mention. This also happens with emotes

Reproduction steps

  1. Put a @mention into the chat input
  2. Change channel
  3. Go back to the original channel
  4. Hit send
