Blank screen after app restart

Summary

I edited the .desktop file with StartupWMClass=fluxer (it's a Cinnamon thing, hard to explain in a few words) which then required a program restart. But after the restart there's only a blank screen that doesn't go away.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Edit the .desktop file and add StartupWMClass=fluxer.
  2. Pin the icon (from the menu) to the panel.
  3. Click the pinned icon on the panel and observe the neverending blank screen.

aur/flux-bin 2.7.0-1 Arch Linux, Cinnamon 6.6.7

Status changed from Fixed to Awaiting confirmation
This was closed in a bulk cleanup before Fluxer V2 without being checked or fixed. It may work now, so it is waiting for someone to confirm whether the bug still happens.

Testing fresh from appimage on a Fedora 43 KDE (Wayland) without modifications, blank screen exists here as well.

I had a similar issue on kde with no changes made to the app. I killed the app and restarted it and it started the second time.

Having this issue on Windows 10 as well. I updated using the icon in the top right of the application, & now even after computer & app restarts, it is only a grey empty box.

Confirmed on Windows 11 Home as well. Like @crybabymae it has remained a grey screen for me persistently since an update I did within the last 10 minutes. Edit: On the third try, it opened the UI correctly.

I also experience this issue on NixOS running KDE Wayland 6.5.5 with the 0.0.8 AppImage.

I'm also running into this issue on EndeavorOS KDE Plasma 6.6.0 with the 0.0.8 AppImage. Blank screen, nothing visible. Fresh download.

The issue looks like sometimes it tries to load https://web.fluxer.app/ and result into a blank pages, and sometimes it loads https://web.fluxer.app/channels/@me and it works

Not sure if this is the exact same issue- but on Macos 26.2 (25C56), m3 CPU, when I start the Fluxer app, I am presented with a black screen only. Seems like a similar symptom as above.

I am also having this same issue.. if I turn on my VPN/change IP it will sometimes load correctly, but usually if I close it it won't open again and just gives the gray box.
