ephemeral messages dont separate messages from the same author

Observed behaviour

it doesnt Expected behaviour it should partition the current message chain image

type /nick or do anything that results in an ephemeral message while there is someone yapping by spamming messages

image as shown here, the ephemeral message doesnt cause the message chain to split into two group
