Emoji reactions appear to persist in iOS client during timeout

(#1972) Bug Fixed mobile

Observed behaviour

Reactions to messages in a channel where one is timed out persist in the client :)

Reproduction steps

  1. Get muted/timed out in a channel (lol)
  2. React to messages in that channel
  3. See your reactions persisting (but the reaction does not actually persist on other clients - the server actually rejects it)

Build information

Version 1.0.0, Beta 36, Channel Beta, Build 40, iOS 26.5 (arm64), Device iPhone15,3, Locale en-US, Push apns, Flutter 3.44.6, Dart 3.12.2

Platform

iOS

Details

Expected behaviour The reaction should have visually bumped on then off, just like the canary client, with the message showing about “can not add reactions while timed out” or whatever
