DM message preview does not show if an attachment has been sent

Observed behaviour

No message preview available in DMs until text is added to the attachment.

Reproduction steps

  1. Send a DM to someone with an attachment.
  2. View preview in the DM list.

Build information

Version 1.0.0, Beta 25, Channel Beta, Build 2090, Android 10 (arm64), Device samsung SM-N960U1, Locale en-US, Push fcm, Flutter 3.44.2, Dart 3.12.2

Expected behaviour Message preview shows as “You: Sent an attachment”, behavior found in Canary Desktop 2026.614.190551, Web 2026.616.1249, macOS 15.7.7 (arm64), Electron 41.2.2, Chrome 146.0.7680.188, Node 24.14.1, Locale en-US
  1. Rex changed the status from Needs triage to Fixed

Can reproduce CR - Version 1.0.0, Beta 25, Channel Beta, Build 29, iOS 26.6 (arm64), Device iPhone13,1, Locale en-GB, Push apns, Flutter 3.44.2, Dart 3.12.2
