Smoother message and keyboard animations

(#1434) Feature Under consideration mobile ui

Current problem

on ios currently unlike the discord app where there is an animation for when a new message appears, the fluxer app on ios doesn’t have that. the animations for when opening or closing the system keyboard is bad.

Proposed change

nicer and smoother animations.

This seems like the right place still, discussions can apply to any platform, but bug reports shouldn't go to the main Fluxer repo's issues for the time being, that's the only distinction!

To be clear, you submitted this feature request in the correct place – discussions are repoless and apply to everything in the Fluxer organisation, including the mobile app :)

I agree that smoother animations would make the iOS experience feel much better. A subtle animation when new messages appear, along with smoother keyboard opening and closing transitions, would make the app feel more polished and responsive. Matching the smoothness of apps like Discord would be a great improvement.

Right now, Fluxer has optimistic messages (the message appears in the channel grayed out until the server confirms that it has actually been sent). So what happens is, the optimistic message is sent, then when the server confirms the success, the message is recreated entirely and replaces the optimistic variant. This makes the task much harder than "a line of script". Trust me, I tried with custom CSS lol. So Fluxer would need to change the way messages appear in the channel for animations to work. Maybe we could try to make sure that, instead of deleting the optimistic variant and recreating the confirmed message, the message's root element's content would be edited so that the root element itself could be animated properly? I'm sure someone could try this out.
