Grey Out GIF Button Or Show Warning When Lacking Embed Permissions
Problem
Currently when one tries to post GIF's in chat, there's no indicator for a lack of embed privs. When the permission to embed links is denied or not granted, someone trying to post a GIF in chat won't know they'll get embed fail unless they were already informed, or saw someone else with same permission level get embed fail. Otherwise, they'll find out the hard way. ("Embed failure, laugh at this user.")
Proposal
When the "Embed links" permission is lacking, here are two ways I could see how this idea should go down:
The GIF button and its menu should be greyed out, OR...
There should be a visible warning icon on the GIF button and warning text under the search bar, letting you know before you try posting it that your GIF won't embed. Perhaps the warning should say "You lack embed permissions, your GIF will post as a link."
The 1st option would restrict you from the GIF menu altogether when the embed permission is lacking, the 2nd option is more permissive, but merely lets you know.
