i would prefer if no communities were ever deleted. i think the community should be set in a permanent archival mode.

I am of the same mind, when communities are big enough, just like real world companies, clubs and charities, the goal is for them to continue and grow. But from the discussion in FluxDiscover we could see that this was quite a divisive opinion and some owners may prefer to have the option to bring the community to an end or archive it instead.
