Self Hosting Desktop App Login

(#1057) Feature Shipped desktop self-hosting

Problem

Currently, if you go to the fluxer desktop app, the only login available is for the fluxer instance. That would be an issue for self hosting, because now you would have to re-compile with the new host for the self hosted server.

Proposed solution

With element for matrix, the login screen has an optional area where you can pick the server you want the app to point to. This would be great to allow for the same app to be used for the public instance, but also allow self-hosters to use the same app without re-compiling.

Earlier versions of the client used to have this feature: image image image Maybe it will return when the relays and/or federation features are in development?

Yeah the new version that I downloaded does not support this, only logging in with a browser to the public instance, not your own custom instance.
