Earlier versions of Role Inheritance, newest first.

Current version | Edited by Rex
Changes
- Role inheritance can not be configured to inherit from roles above the user's current highest role (prevents someone from being able to basically give themselves permissions higher than they would be able to give people below them). If the user is the server owner, let them go nuts and have roles inherit from higher roles, whatever the owner wants.Removed: ### ChecksRemoved: Removed: - ☑ I searched for existing discussions and didn't find a duplicate.Removed:

Role Inheritance

Problem

You have to give users multiple roles to 'inherit permissions' or give each role the permissions of the role below it.

Proposed solution

Please add an option where roles can inherit permissions from other roles. If those roles also inherit permissions from other roles, the 'main' role will also inherit those roles' permissions.

Notes (optional)

  • Role inheritance should only be configurable by people with the Administrator permission.
  • Role inheritance can not be configured to inherit from roles above the user's current highest role (prevents someone from being able to basically give themselves permissions higher than they would be able to give people below them). If the user is the server owner, let them go nuts and have roles inherit from higher roles, whatever the owner wants.
